This picture was from a mid-winter parade on Bald Head Island, where many visitors mistook my friends and me for representatives of a company sales force. I can't imagine what they thought we were selling in our costumes, but all invited us into their homes to chat. Southern beaches are great places to read mysteries and thrillers!
